Traveling to Italy has always been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I was beyond excited to finally get there! My first Italian adventure began in Rome. We had a busy couple of days as we only booked two nights and there is just so much to see and do. Rome is generally busy throughout the year but I heard that it was best to go in the spring or fall, so thats what we did. We went in mid October and the weather was perfect!

If you don't gain 10 pounds on a trip to Italy you aren't doing Italy right!

Where we stayed:

We booked our trip very last minute so we decided to stay in an Airbnb instead of a hotel. We totally lucked out and found a great place which was super affordable and only a two minute walk from the colosseum. You would think that being in such a great location would be really busy, but this Airbnb was tucked away on a quieter street directly across from the subway station. We were able to walk to all of these stops on our trip, and were able to see so much in a short time. There was also a great little cafe right beside the AirBNB, it could not have been more perfect.

What We Did

We didn't have a set plan, we just walked around and stopped where we felt like and it couldn't have been more fun!

Colosseum

The Pantheon - Trevi Fountain

Altar of the Fatherland

Spanish Steps

Rome was one of the most memorable stops on this trip. There is so much history, beauty and art for your eyes to take in. It’s almost impossible to digest it all in such a short amount of time. However, be prepared to do a lot of walking, and keep in mind that the main stops are quite busy with tourists.
